Nomination papers for South Hadley’s Annual Town Election on April 9, 2019 may be obtained at the Town Clerk’s office at South Hadley Town Hall, 116 Main Street, beginning January 2, 2019.
Nomination papers are available for Town Moderator, Selectboard, School Committee, Board of Assessors, Board of Health, Planning Board, Municipal Light Board, Trustee for Free Public Library, Housing Authority, Councilor for Hampshire Council of Government, as well as for Town Meeting Member.
All voters registered to vote in South Hadley are eligible to run for Town office and Town Meeting member.
Town-wide office nomination papers must be signed by at least fifty registered voters in South Hadley. Candidates are advised to collect more than fifty signatures to ensure the requisite number of certified signatures.
Town Meeting member nomination papers must be signed by at least ten registered voters of the precinct in which the candidate resides.
Nomination papers for all of the above offices must be filed at the Town Clerk’s office by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19.
Voters in each precinct will elect eight town meeting members for three years, and elect other members as necessary to fill existing vacancies for a one and two year terms.
South Hadley residents must be registered voters by Wednesday, March 20, 2019 to vote in the Annual Town Election on April 9, 2019.
