New plans submitted for Woodlawn Plaza housing development

The South Hadley Planning Board will hold a virtual public hearing on Monday, September 21, 2020 at 7:15pm to discuss South Hadley Plaza, LLC’s application for plan approval. The hearing will be conducted online using the Google Meet platform and people may join the meeting through Google Meet (video/audio) or by phone (voice only). Access details will be provided on the meeting agenda to be posted on the town website (www.southhadley.org/AgendaCenter/Planning-Board-3) by Thursday, September 17, 2020. Any person interested in, or wishing to be heard, regarding this application should appear/join the public hearing.

The applicant is seeking Plan Approval and a Stormwater Management Permit to allow construction and operation of a 60-unit apartment building at Woodlawn Plaza, which is located at the intersection of Routes 33 (Lyman Street) and Route 116 (Newton Street). Other elements of the project include provision of green space, parking, landscaping, Stormwater management facilities, and related improvements. The address of the property is 501 Newton Street and it is generally identified as a 3 acre portion of the 9.2-acre Parcel #200 on Assessor’s Map #28. The property lies within the Newton Street Smart Growth District.
