Know Your Town (KYT) has been working with Channel 15 to host a Virtual Candidates’ Night for the Town’s upcoming April 13 municipal election. The program will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 beginning at 6:30 p.m. with Joan Rosner of KYT and Dalton Zbierski of the Town Reminder as moderators. KYT is a nonpartisan community organization that seeks to inform residents about issues and functions of town government.
The program will be simulcast for live viewing on local Channel 15 and online at http://shctv15.com/watch-live/. It will also be recorded and available for viewing later at https://shctv15.com/ and during rebroadcasts on Channel 15.
Every candidate for Town office will be invited to give a brief introductory statement to familiarize viewers with who they are and why they are running. The evening will begin with introductions from candidates in uncontested races, followed by Question & Answer segments for each of the four contested offices. Candidates for those offices will introduce themselves and respond to questions submitted in advance by the public. The candidates in each segment will then give one-minute responses to the same questions, along with short closing statements.
The contested offices are Selectboard, School Committee, Board of Health (1-year terms), and Municipal Light Board.
Submit your questions for candidates:
The community is encouraged to participate by submitting one or two questions in advance for candidates in contested races. No additional questions from the public will be accepted during Candidates’ Night. All questions must be submitted by March 30th using the form available at: http://shorturl.at/uAPT7
